There are three reasons.
1. I have been tracing my family tree on and off since I was about 14 and I do still have the tree I drew up then, but it is a mess of censuses and trees stored electronically, bits of information here and there with little detail about the human behind the name.
2. My daughters get confused when I talk about relatives who died before they were born. I said I’d write some notes for them.
3. There is a project called 52 ancestors where you blog about a different ancestor every week, I thought it would be a good way to get me started.
